I'm lookining to move to Ga & was told the Woodstock area is very nice as is the surrounding area. The schools, I've been told are very good. Can anyone tell me what else is there to do there. I'm married & have kids. Thanks.

I live in Holly Springs, which is adjacent to Woodstock. Yes, the area is very nice, and the schools are excellent. There's a growing downtown area with a lot of shops and restaurants, and they're opening a new amphitheather this summer that will feature free concerts by some pretty decent bands (if past years are any indication). There's the usual suburban shopping venues, and you're close to just about anything you could want entertainment/leisure/sports-wise.

You might get better info if you're more specific on what you're looking for.

Also, you'll want to factor in your commute- do you know where you'll be working?

My brother and family have been in the Towne Lake area for around 15 years now and love it. Both of the kids have thrived in the schools. They wouldn't consider another part of the metro area. He is a travelling sales rep and has to cover most of Georgia so a commute is not of importance to him. His wife works near Kennestone Hospital in Marietta and has never complained about that commute (even though I know it can get hairy just between Marietta and Woodstock at rush hour).

Depending on the location of your commute, it is an excellent family oriented community that I would highly recommend.
