Well, they usually dole out $40-50 million a year in cash grants. That may be chicken feed in Mathman-world but it seems like a good bit of money to me.

I see whay you mean. Isn't coke the highest ranked company in Atlanta or is it Delta?

I've also always thought it unfortunate that Home Depot didn't choose to build a signature tower downtown way back when, but instead put its HQ in that rather unimpressive big boxy thing in Vinings (that doesn't even have the HD name or logo anywhere on it ... why is that?!)
Home Depot also has an IT division in Austin TX, its like a 2ndary HQ. Home Depot is in Vinnings to avoid terrorist attacks. No one knows the answer to why the name is not displayed on the building. I like your Coke idea.

This is true.

Maybe they'll do something with the exterior of the building. It is blank, but its a landmark and should stay.

Where do you get your information? HD has been in Vinings long before they built their current building and as long as I can remember (20 plus years). Long before terrorist attacks were given much thought. And why do you think they are any less a target being 10 miles from Downtown in a clearly seen BIG WHITE building

As noted in my previous post - the reason the HD name is not boldly shown on the building is to not distract from the stores and to remind everyone that they are a store support center.

Compared to what Wal-Mart has for a Corparate HQ, Coke is the Waldorf Astoria and Wal-Mart is Days Inn

their building is solo in an end of town that used to be not-so-nice. soon, i think they'll be building skyscrapers over around it as development spreads through luckie-marietta and west midtown, and then it won't look so lonely. as for the new corporate center idea, i think their current building is OK, it would be silly to have some garish looking coke bottle structure.

It's Atlanta's and Georgia's largest company measured by market value at $173 Billion. For comparison Google is worth $199 Billion.

You are correct about its valuation, which makes a even stronger case for a new signature tower.
