Is there a drive in movie theater in the Atlanta area besides Starlight on Moreland?

Nope, but the Starlight offers 6 screens and is a great deal.

nope Starlight is the only one...but I can see why you would question that...its stays crowded and it is dead smack in the middle of the hood. Someone just got shot there recently.

There's a drive in up in the mountains. The Tiger drive in.

Now you may be thinking "The mountains!?!!" But for instance, it would take me the same amount of time to get there as it would down to the Shootout 6. I mean Starlight 6.

Of course, instead of spend all that gas money getting to those locations, you can just invest in a projector and a sheet of plywood and rent movies on amazon or netflix. You can watch movies in your driveway, invite the neighbors etc etc .

Its not dead smack in the middle of the hood https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&l...27874&t=h&z=16. What neighborhood is around there? An old landfill is behind, church across the street.
Its ignorant comments like this that give a false image of Atlanta. The guy that got shot was unfortunate, but it does not happen all the time and people do not get robbed at the drive in. Hell a lot people got shot in Gwinnett County this year, but people still live there.

first of all i dont appreciate you calling my response ignorant...second of all I grew up in Atlanta and I can tell you that it is in the hood. Thomasville is right around the corner...a strip club is right up the street. And its a lot of rift raft up and down that part of moreland. and I didnt say it happened all the time but it does happen. I hate it when people respond and dont know what the hell they are talking about

A false image of Atlanta. HA!..you probably just moved to Atlanta and have never been to that side of town but think you know what goes on.

Thanks for the replies. I've been to Starlight several times and I like it, but I'm planning on moving to Sugar Hill/Suwanee area so that would be pretty far away.

I agree with your assessment of the area.

Strip club right up the street? Big deal...those are plentiful in this city and don't indicate the quality of an area. Some people are just a little more afraid of a neighborhood that isn't all pretty and neat...I think that's the problem here. I have been to the Starlight MANY times and have never even thought about it being in the "hood", but then again that type of area doesn't bother me. Moreland isn't the prettiest street in Atlanta, but it's far from the scariest...so there is no need to sound an alarm about Moreland Avenue - it's pretty harmless IMO.
