As mentioned before we are on the move early next year. I currently work in a university in England (marketing) would like to continue in the same sector when we get there. I am also going to embark on Masters degree (maybe MBA) after settling down. I would like to work and study in the same place for convenience etc. Which of the above or any other should I be considering, Emory looks appealing - Obviously I will do my research but I like the various views that people have here. Any comments or experiences, please!!!

Thank you.

An Emory MBA would probably be the highest ranked of the three.

Thanks OhioNative I thought as much. Is Emory a good employer? They seem to have good benefits.

Georgia Tech's MBA program is on the rise and in a big way. I believe they are now in the top 25 or top 30 in the country for an MBA program. Particularly if you do anything in the science or technology field.

And some of the older neighborhoods around Emory would feel like home.

You are probably going to need to apply for jobs at all three. I am not sure of what your field is, but university jobs are hard to get.

Oh, that doesnt sound good, why is that then???
I am nervous about this anyway as UK and US university systems are different, which is a disadvantage for me. I open to anything really but given the choice I would like to work for a place that will do a good masters program too.

It is going to very difficult to pull it off at Ga Tech and Emory U.

First of all, unless you are doing executive evening MBA (which normally sponsored by local companies for their executives), you probably have to do full time at Emory U and Ga Tech.

Second, Emory U is among top 20 in MBA and Tech is around top 35 in MBA in the US. You need to have very good GMAT score and very good academy background (a good GPA from a good school).

Third, Emory U costs 76,000 for two year program. Unless you are resident of GA, Ga tech costs about 58,000 for two year program. It takes one year to establish residency. So that's something to think about it.

The best bet is Ga State IMO. Although Ga State is lower ranking, it have very good part-time MBA program. It is very large school, probably as big as Tech and Emory U combined. So there is good chance you can get a job and can realistic get in.

If you're looking to teach most schools require a minimum of a Masters and most a PhD. Just doing a quick search on the bios for the marketing professors @ Tech, they all have PhDs.

If you just want to work for the school while getting your Masters you could probably find something.

Be prepared to pay LOTS of money for tuition, especially Emory and Ga. Tech.
