FYI...

"A formal groundbreaking was held Thursday for LakePoint, the $1 billion, 1,200-acre sports complex in Bartow County that has the backing of investors that include former Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox and new manager Fredi Gonzalez. The complex is expected to eventually bring 26,000 jobs for both the on-site complex and surrounding hotels and restaurants when it opens in 2014..."

We should set a timer in this post so in 2015 we can go back to it, and see how many of the 26,000 jobs show'ed up.

If you're talking about that funky looking building I saw pics of a week or so ago, you're talking apples and oranges. The one in Bartow is a huge complex of outdoor fields, designed to hold large competitions for baseball, soccer, etc., while the one at Atlantic Station looks to be a much smaller indoor facility.

26,000 jobs?!?! Somebody is smoking something ... seriously!

FYI -- that's HALF the total employment at the Atlanta airport! Really? Back away from the BS people and apply a little common sense.

26,000 jobs?! ROTFL!

26,000 jobs for all of the development coming in. The construction, hotels, restaurants, retail stores, etc, on top of the 1,000s of jobs the sporting complex will bring. When you think about the fact they plan on having 4,000 hotel rooms on the property you see the big picture and where these 26,000 jobs come from. Emerson is in a perfect location as well. It is less than 30 minutes from 285 and is the only area in NW metro that hasn't been developed.
