Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Looking for cheap, safe housing near Emory's Candler School of Theology. Walking distance or shuttle. Does not need to be fancy...just cheap, safe and clean.

What is your definition of cheap? How many bedroom(s) and bathroom(s) do you need?

Why not graduate school housing on campus? Or try off campus housing https://housing.emory.edu/off-campus/home.cfm

Here is a site that might help you find something:

https://housing.emory.edu/off-campus/home.cfm

If you find places you're interested in, you can post the locations of the rentals and maybe people can let you know what they think.

Just about anything within walking distance to Emory would be safe. Cheap can be found especially if you're willing to have a roommate or share part of a house. Clean is always a gamble, but I'd guess most places around there are okay.

There are lots of apartments near Emory. There are also lots of ads in the student center for rentals in nearby homes. If you want to go the commercial route there is the nearby Post Apartments, which is pretty much an extension of Emory anyway given how many students live there. Rents are going to be higher. I lived there and for the most part it was okay but it was a bit "fratty" at times. They aren't supposed to rent to undergrads, at least that is what they told me, but the way they get around this is by renting to their parents - put their name on the lease. So beware - the possibility for Animal House behavior exists.

Thank you all. Great places to start my search! Looking for low excitement. No frat places. Working divinity student...not much time for fun and games!

These apartments are within walking distance of the Candler School of Theology.

They are the Lullwater Apartments, at the intersection of Lullwater & North Decatur, phone 404-371-0742.
