Transit is making progress in the City of Atlanta, which approved TSPLOST, despite the failure of TSPLOST.
After T-SPLOST defeat, transit plans slowed, but not stopped | www.ajc.com
Mayor Reed is making strides on getting a P3 to fund transit on the BeltLine and have it connect to the Downtown Streetcar.
GDOT is moving forward on the MMPT.

Nice. P3's are the best way to get this done.

Some very good ideas there. Funding this way makes more sense than with a regional TSPLOST IMO.

However... the Atlanta-Savannah HSR idea is still a loser.

Yes, it is a pipe dream! I think commuter rail is a better idea and more efficient use of funds.

Mayor Reed is the best. This is better because most of the money can go to transit instead of splitting it in half for roads and the other half for transit. Now the money that would have been going to additional roads can go to expand rail service

I think we should focus on a Public-Private conventional rail between Atlanta and Savanna to "test the waters" before we shell out big bucks for HSR.

East-west connections across Midtown. 17th St, 10th St, Ponce, and North Ave.

I just don't see much use for these but I don't live smack dab on top of where they are talking about so maybe I am biased. If we already had things that would help more people like commuter rail or MARTA having a better overall footprint it might be different. Spending money on small things like streetcars I think should be the last step, not the first step but hopefully they do work well and aren't a waste.

As the population density increases in the suburbs, mass transit would be very desirable. I would love to jump on a rail from my house in Gwinnett to a job in midtown.
