So we are about to move from the southern suburbs to the northern suburbs of Atlanta and it seems like the booming areas right now are Cumming and Woodstock. Does anyone have an opinion about which one is the best to raise a family?

I can't say much about Cumming, but I live in Woodstock and love it. There's lots of family activities to do in and around town. The city holds concerts and festivals throughout the year along with the traditional holiday parades, and the downtown is very lively with a good collection of restaurants. There is also the Elm Street Theater. Good mountain bike trails nearby, JJ Biello park is just up the road and it has a huge playground. Lake Allatoona and Red Top Mountain are not too far away. Woodstock has easy access to I-575 and you can be in downtown Atlanta in 35 - 45 minutes (except during rush hour).
