Maybe Atlanta doesn't have to be a first class city. Maybe it is happy being what it is. Maybe becoming a first class city would destroy a lot of what Atlanta has to offer.

I think this forum (and probably Atlanta in general) has a higher-than-average number of people who constantly try to put Atlanta on the same level as those cities, which probably triggers a lot of that.
