With the rising cost of fuel for automobiles, homes and food along with other expenses I believe our state/federal representatives and federal government needs to look into the charges that our local Gas Marketers are charging consumers. I think it is redicilous that consumers have to pay on top of their Gas Charges additional cost passed on from Gas Marketers such as AGL Pass Through Charges and Customer Service Fees. I do not believe consumers should have to pay customer service fees for being a customer. Does any of the other Gas Marketers (Walton GAS, SCANA, Atlanta Natural Gas, etc) charge customer service fees and how much? Also do they pass along the AGL Pass Through Charges to their customers?

Regards
BossMA

All the marketers charge pass through charges, they are mandated by Atlanta Gas & Light, who still delivers the gas to your home.

When you pay your gas bill, you are paying only for actual gas used. The pass through charge is to cover overhead, like the meter readers and technicians who address gas leaks.

Most marketers also charge customer service fees. They are generally variable based on credit score and with some companies you can lower them by signing up for e-statements and/or automatic bill pay.
