I recently accepted a position with CDC at the Century Center campus. I wanted to know areas near the campus that would be safe for a single female. I am currently looking at the Chamblee, North Decatur and North Druid Hills area. What would rent typically run in this area for a 1 bedroom apartment?
Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

The area is fine and safe with lots of nice apartments. Check Toco Hills, North Druid Hills and along Briarcliff Road.

My personal preference would be to stay south of I-85 in the area. Otherwise, you should be fine.

That is on my list of places to check out. I'm trying to stay below $900, closer to 700s would be great. Is the area between Buford Hwy and 85 a good area? I saw a couple of complexes there (Sienna Ridge, Park on Clairmont). Safety is most important. Thank you all for the help. This is making this easier for me, especially moving in a 6 week time frame.

I would definitely stay away from that area. Things change quickly once you cross I-85 to the north.

Ditto! I was just about to post the same thing. The OP really should check along Briarcliff going north and south and around Emory and the CDC.

There are also some new apartments at Briarcliff and E. Rock Springs/N. Decatur Road.
