...what hotel would they most likely stay at?

Random question, I know. It's for a screenplay the hubby is writing. Thanks!

Probably the Ritz Carlton or St Regis.

Do presidents actually stay in public hotels in this day and age though? I would think that they would stay at a more secure location.

I work in the hotel business and yes they do - it is quite the hassle for your other guests. They typically take over a couple of floors of the hotel and you have to make sure other guests are not checked into those floors. There are definitely incidents where a mistake is made and a poor guests walks onto the wrong floor and they get confronted by the Secret Service.

They also block the elevators before the president enters the building and until he is safely in the room. So your guests that are stuck waiting get frustrated.

Realistically, I can't think of the last time a President actually stayed overnight here. Generally, they all seem to fly back to DC, regardless of the time.

I would add the Four Seasons to your list for presidential candidates.

Yep, I think even during the Olympics President Clinton flew in and flew out.

Might they stay at the Governor's Mansion? Being if they and the governor were the same party?
