That's because DC is currently under a blizzard watch and expected to get more than a foot of snow.

I'm talking about the traffic jam they experienced last night, not the impending blizzard. Seems very similar to how the Atlanta metro responded, but the media reaction will not be as negative because it happened in a place within the BosWash corridor.

I checked traffic out. It was pretty bad. Entire beltway had delays just like 285 a couple years ago. Wrecks everywhere. It was ridiculous for a city about to get a snowstorm anyway.

Kudzo grow in the District itself particularly in SE DC
Wow, great kudzo. Great. That's not the culture. There are palm trees in Atlanta and it's still not a beach culture here.

This is why I don't debate with those whom don't know how to comprehend anything... Any persona that want to create some bs will *pick-and-say what to respond to*. I guess history, climatology, ecology, cultural anthropology seems to be too complex of concepts to grasp I guess...

I remember on Morning Joe last year or year before, they were reporting about a snow event in DC. Joe Scarborough brought up the "Is DC Southern or Northern" debate and said judging by the way they deal with snow, it's Southern. I got a chuckle out of that.

Obviously it's a cultural hybrid, but I always like to point out to folks there that they are historically and geographically Southern. I talked with a native about it a few months ago and he says DC is Southern. I know he's not in the majority but I thought that was interesting.

I put DC in the same category as Miami, although DC was historically more Southern than Miami. They are both in the South but over the years have gotten a lot of extraregional cultural influences that have substantially muddled the waters.

To be fair, snow started falling there towards the evening and not in the middle of the day and I don't think they had kids stranded at schools overnight.
