Anyone have experience with home builder Pulte? We’re looking for feedback on the quality and process of the builder?

Appreciate any info...

Yep. Been living in a Pulte house for 15 years, and mother is building one right now at a Del Webb (Pulte's 55 and over communities).

I've been very pleased w/ them, but I'm a low maintenance home-owner. If you're high maintenance and want to customize the exact crown-molding in your guest bathroom, then you might want to go w/ a custom builder who will let you dictate the process.

I just wanted a really convenient-to-live-in house w/ a floorplan that works and isn't annoying. Pulte rocks for that.

I agree with DawgPark. They are not a custom builder but are definitely one of the best national production builders. Plus they just moved their Corporate headquarters to Atlanta, so technically you are supporting an Atlanta based company by buying one of their homes.

From the previous comments I assume they have improved their product from the 80s when we owned one. From our experience would never consider them again.

We bought in late 1999/early 2000, so I can't speak for Pulte in the 80's. And like I said, my mother is building a custom Pulte home in Del Webb right now.

Our experiences w/ Pulte have been very good. Simple, easy, convenient, quick, and plenty of quality for us because we are not ultra-picky/fussy house people.

But, don't go there expecting them to be luxury custom builders that cater to your every whim. That's not what they are.

I lived in a Pulte house in Virginia (townhome) and I am currently renting one here in Georgia (townhome built in 2001).

Very middling quality. Expect creaky floorboards within a few years and doors which won't stay put because they have been hung at an angle. Our house needed emergency plumbing repair because they put the main drain line right next to the sheet rock of an interior wall and didn't protect in with sheet metal.... so, when we hung a *picture*, water started leaking out of it from the shower.

They are not bad houses to live in, but you do not have to look very hard to see where they cut construction costs.
