I'm assuming that would explain why they closed off the forest to the public earlier this year. There was some neighborhood resistance growing when it first happened, but it seemed to die down a bit over the summer. I wonder if this will re-energize that movement?

They closed it a couple of years ago, as soon as they took it over.

Fernbank Museum Announces 75-Acre Expansion
Not clear exactly where they are adding this. Not sure if I am happy about this. Even if they aren't using the Fernbank Forest, they are adding a lot of noise and activity right on its boundary.
