If you check almost any future / final state rendering it includes the light rail. As CQ said, it has been part of the Beltline plan since the original thesis. Not only that, but the transit component is one of the most desired elements of the Beltline in the polling they have done of residents.

I was aware of that from the beginning of the Beltline idea. I'm not contradicting anyone. All I said was that I wish that the Beltline jogging/walking trails could be finished sooner. Last thing I read about that it would take decades more to finish. I'm greedy! I want it NOW!

Without the transit component, the Beltline is far, far from transforming the city into something completely unique. Don't get me wrong, walking trails and public spaces are important pieces and are needed, but the transit aspect to this is more than the crowning jewel... it's the crown itself. It needs to be done sooner than later.

Understandable. I think they are trying to do a phased approach for all pieces. But the trails do seem to be coming before the transit. But I don't think the Beltline can afford to wait for all the trails to be done to get the transit going.

I hate to be pessimistic but the current plans for the trail through Reynoldstown (which is the next segment planned for completion) is almost already a year behind due to many factors including the APS vs. City of Atlanta debacle. I love that people are coming around to the idea that transit needs to improve but the Mayor is loosing credibility every time he speaks about potential development. He needs to focus on the current issues at hand. How is the APS vs. City of Atlanta debacle going to be settled? Otherwise all this other talk is bs.

Yes to transit on the Beltline. Imagine being able to ride from Edgewood Ave to Piedmont Park! One thing I do wish that will probably never happen - adding a third "lane" on the Eastside Trail as a passing lane. It's really difficult to get anywhere quickly on a bike during the weekends with people clumped together on both sides.

I really wish Bellwood Quarry was left in it's current state....the blue water and the cliffs really making it seem like you're in the mountains or something, not 1 mile away from being in the center of a 6 million person metropolis. Regardless, the park expansion will be exciting and Westside residents will be happy.

Are there currently any timelines for the Streetcar expansion? This would absolutely be better than downtown Atlanta streetcar...I regularly go from downtown to the beltline walking.
Idk but hopefully the feds will give the city some $$$ to jump start it

Co-sign on Music Midtown to Westside Reservoir Park. I'd love to have a huge water feature in the background and the skyline in the background. Sexy stuff.

This would be a legit backdrop:

I haven't seen any recent plans, but I think the entire pit is going to be filled with water though.
