Hi, Im here in NY, my brother is supposed to fly out of Atlanta tomorrow here to NY but he just now told me its snowing and i checked a weather site and it says Atlanta is supposed to get 3-6 inches of snow until about 10 tomorrow AM

Hes not sure if his flight (@ 2 tomorrow afternoon) will be cancelled and doesn't know how the roads will be tomorrow

in your experiences with snow (or lack of experience since it probably doesn't snow that often in Atl) do you think the roads will be passable tomorrow and do you think the flight will be cancelled? would the Roswell area roads and route 400 be treated promptly in the snow?

thanks for reading

rlrl

Well, first let's think about whether or not the plane will be able to land on the runway. I haven't gone out on the road today, but yesterday I went on 75-S, 285-W, and I-20W a little after 10am and it was fine. I have no idea how it looks around the airport. Roswell should be okay.

There are currently no delays at the airport, and it's raining in Atlanta (not snowing, like it probably is in the northern suburbs). There is no snow accumulation expected in or south of the city where the airport is located - not sure where you saw 3-6 inches. That forecast is for the far nothern burbs and the mountains. Unless it drops below freezing in the morning, I wouldn't expect any major delays at the airport.
