As long as they can get accredited they will be ok. Once the money from financial aid starts rolling in for the students everything else will fall in place. Kids will still go to Morris Brown because it's apart of the AUC and it's in Atlanta. Plus they will want to be apart of history knowing they are the first students back at MB that will help turn it around. It may not be nice at first but give it a few years once they are accredited and they will be ok. Kind of like gentrification. Things don't change overnight but it will in a few years. All the kids that want to go to a HBCU that can't get into Clark/Spelman/Morehouse will be more than happy to go to MB. The Atlanta/AUC brand is strong

Nobody who isn't part of the AME is going to MB, and even then those people are going to send their kids to MB. IMO MB needs someone else to take over it so it can lose the stigma, it will take too much work to get that school up to standard and for the cost your better off going to Any other AUC school/HBCU in the state.

I was privy to a convo with someone who is on their board who stated that they had turned down money from some wealthy individuals that would have accelerated this process. I can kinda see why they would do so if the money came with restrictions or some form of "attachments". But if not, then why drag thru this if not only for vanity's sake?? Anyone have a clue??

Nobody isn't just going to give out that much money and not expect anything in return. There is no free lunch

When dealing with any group of individuals especially a church that is a governing body, there had to be more philothranpic discussions held. Rule of thumb with Philanthropist is that they aren't looking for any handout. We're not talking about local business people. A foundation has no business interests that are "for profit".

But anywho, I was just wondering.

Good luck to them. Hated to see a school that old, especially HBCU in that shape.

Well yes of course, but I meant in terms of how they are planning to go about enrolling more students, upgrading facilities, etc.
