Nice, but why are we Importing Dogs?

Keep in mind, 36 Atlanta area dogs will now die, due to not being adopted.

Read the article, they will all be adopted, they would have died in Turkey.

Yes, I read it....

But the number of people who adopt dog is a set number.. Since the Turkey dogs were "Saved", That will mean 36 Dogs will not get adopted from Atlanta area shelters will not be "Saved, They will die".

Were you going to adopt 3 dogs anyway? If these dogs did not arrive?

The reality is that this does not neccessarily mean that 36 Atlanta area dogs will now die.
You can check online to verify this but the fact is that there is a glut of available adolptable dogs in some areas of the U.S. & a shortage of them in other areas such that dogs are shipped often via air to & from locations depending on the oversupply & surplus that is found in various locales.
Although I've long aware of this startling fact, I recently saw an article or feaure story somewhere that highlighted the pilot network that has been cobbled together to make this effort possible. It's all for the love of dogs.
Makes me want to leave work & go home to do some lovin' on my own 2 rescue dogs (and the cat!)
