Hello,

I'm relocating with my family to Forsyth Co. in July. The dilemma I have is finding a place to rent that fits our needs. We'll have the proceeds from our home sale in Phoenix, AZ to cover rent but we'd really don't wish to stay in a rental for more than 6 mos. We have plans to buy a home soon after we get settled and once I'm working. We're a family of 5 with three dogs (two Shih-Tzus and one Golden Doodle that's my son's service dog). We're looking to live within the vicinity of Settles Bridge or Whitlow Elementary Schools. Is any one aware of any places in those locations that take dogs that would allow us to rent for 6 mos? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Shannon

I think you will have trouble finding a house for rent in those two school feeding zones. Especially for a 6 month rental.

Are your working with a Realtor? Many have "Off the books" rentals they know about. You son's service dog (I assume its a certified by some national organization) will not be a problem, laws allow them, The other two might be a issue. There are some "Apartment home s" that you can go month to month on, but they are out side the target area you are looking at.

I would talk to the Forsyth County Special Ed department, as all school in the system may not be able to accommodate your son's needs. So the ES zone you are targeting might not be the ES/MS he winds up in, and may need to be bused to that school. Forsyth Schools also redistrict schools every 2-3 year due to growth/new school opening/Portable classes room being installed.
