I plan o going out this July 4th weekend and taking photos of Downtown, Decatur and Old Fourth Ward. I was just wondering what are some good public parking decks downtown where I can gt skyline photos of both Downtown and Midtown.

Not a parking garage but the Jackson St. bridge (over Freedom parkway) has a good view of the downtown skyline.

King Memorial Marta Station has Downtown, Midtown, and Buckhead skylines in one shot. Northside drive before turning into Atlantic Station is a good photo also.

If you are going to Decatur, there's a spot near Houston Mill and Clifton Road where you get a good view of downtown and Buckhead, on the northern edge of the Emory campus near CDC's main entrance.

When I get claustrophic from living in a forest I like to go by there to see the sky.

Thanks for the ideas! I will definitely check out some of these areas. I also heard the Georgia Aquarium parking deck is a good spot as well.

Probably too late, but the best photo NOT from a building is definately the bridge of Paces Ferry Rd over I-285 in "Vinings". Yes, you have to get out of your car and walk onto the bridge. You can get the entire skyline from there. Including Buckhead.

The best place in a building is probably from the Overlook.

Jackson Street Bridge
17th Street Bridge
Peachtree Rd off-ramp from southbound Buford Hwy express connector
Roof garden at Georgia Tech library
Oak Hill or Active Oval at Piedmont Park
Check out registers at Atlantic Station Target
Any of the tall towers in Atlantic Station

....there are more than I am sure that I am forgetting. I have photos from many of these places.

Crestlawn Cemetery is good for a distance photo of the city.
