Lindbergh/Sydney Marcus/Cheshire Br area. Maybe even North Druid Hills area. If you decide to live south of Sandy Springs then make sure you have quick access to GA400.

Living in this area will put you within a 7 minute drive of Virginia Highland and within 3 miles of Piedmont Park. It doesn't get better than that if you have to go all the way to Alpharetta for work.

Your afternoon commute will suck, though

At 24, definitely Lindbergh, Lenox, Buckhead, Brookhaven. Who cares about the commute, it's not like you have to rush home to take Jr to baseball practice or something. For your mid-twenties, you'll want to be around Buckhead. You'll have the rest of your life to play the "what can I afford vs. commute vs. school district" game.
