since you all were very helpful in helping me find a nice farmers market or two to shop, i'm going to ask for another bit of help... does anyone know of any nice fabric stores in or near the SW part of Atlanta. i'm in zip code 30331. i'm doing some home projects and i'm looking to reupholster my dining room chairs (i've been watching a lot of HGTV ).
thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

There' Dogwood Fabrics, off Tullie Circle over by CHOA Park: Welcome to Dogwood Fabrics!

But that's not really by you. You'd have to go south, on N Druid Hills.

Ok, this is not really near you, but it is worth the trip. There is a Discount Fabric Center in the Kroger shopping plaza at the intersection of Memorial and South Columbia. All of the fabric is $1 a yard and they have lots of high quality upholstery fabric. I wanted to try my hand at making slipcovers for my living room furniture. Having never taken on a project that big, I didn't want to spend a lot on fabric. Covered a couch and chair for about $100! Still looks good today.

Well, thanks, that's good to know! We've got a beautiful old Baker sofa that we've sort of turned over to one of our dogs in her old age, and she deserves it. But it will need recovering soon.
