Do we really want to encourage people to drink and drive?

Why not a raised pedestrian crosswalk acting as a speed table or a pedestrian only traffic light.

Once again, you are putting cars above people and that is a very pedestrian heavy area.

We cant pick and choose what is right. If that is the case is C-D encouraging people not to do the work that they are being paid to do by their employer?

Nice try. But it is very relevant. I could provide you multiple examples of dedicated pedestrian RoW being a huge boost to walk ability all over the world.

Heck, just look at Atlanta Streets Alive. Close the streets and they fill with pedestrians.

So could I, but this block will never be one of those examples, even if it is closed to vehicle traffic.

Not buying it. And you haven't offered s#!t to support your case.

Not saying there might not be some downsides that are worth considering. But boosting walkability is not one of them.

Provide evidence or move your goal posts to your next argument.

Honestly, there's not that many cars that drive on it at any point in the day. As others have said, currently, it is not that big of an issue for pedestrians. Seems like a waste of money and would simply cause Edgewood Avenue to back up more which is already one lane for the most part. Auburn offers some relief otherwise.

You can't just simply say "We need to turn this street into ped. only" and not think about the consequences and aftereffects. This isn't Europe. Develop and urbanize Auburn avenue and actually get a lively street scene going, then we can talk about turning it into pedestrian-only because right now it's only truly active during the weekends when tourists are out.

THIS.

This is just shutting down a street for the sake of doing it.

I'm all for more pedestrian-friendly facilities but this won't pass the smell taste at Atlanta City Hall.
