Atlanta has enough parking space Downtown for a Atlantic station size project, I wishes something like that would come along.

It could be happening sooner than you think. The mayor has been dropping not-so-subtle hints that we should expect a $500M+ residential / commercial development announced downtown in the next couple months.

Can you link these hints? Are they not for the Underground project?

Nope. This is different. "around Phillips Arena" so maybe the gulch. Think there is a thread somewhere.

Downtown Atlanta about to see a $500 million-plus round of development? | The Biz Beat Blog

“I think in the next 120 to perhaps 180 days you’ll see a series of announcements related to Atlanta that are just stunning. Let’s look at the block around the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. …You are going to have an 800 (room) hotel that’s coming in between 250 and 350 million, you are going to have between 150 and 250 million going into retrofitting Philips Arena. You’ll probably see residential and commercial construction component around Philips Arena between 500 million and a billion.”

When complete, the two buildings bisected by Simpson Street will contain 407 apartments, ranging from tiny 537-square-foot studios to three-bedroom units with more than 1,350 square feet.

While prices are expected to average $1,620 per month, plans call for 10 percent of the units to be "workforce housing," with an average price of $1,090 per month.

Construction is wrapping up on the northern building of the block-spanning development, with workers adding balcony railings and prepping the surrounding sidewalks.

Since the summer, the southern block of apartments has risen around the concrete parking deck structure, and brick, stone, and stucco have gone up on the building’s facades.

The buildings are designed to look like multiple structures facing each street, breaking down the monotonous block faces so common with new projects.

When complete, Post Centennial Park will serve up more than 400 apartments, ranging from under 500 square feet to more than 1,350 square feet.
