I'm sorry, the issue is incompetence. End of story.
Yeup, that looks exactly like it did at 6 last night. It's ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. Is there actually a shortage of funding that limits the security capabilities? The airport makes more than enough money, you'd think they could pay for the necessary employees.

Congress makes a "Profit" off the Security Fees paid, They allocate TSA X Dollars in there budget, TSA has to make X dollars work, The "Profit" is returned to the Treasury and used for other items.

Do you have a source for that?

I always heard JFK was pretty bad.

TSA workers don't handle luggage, but I'm guessing you already knew that.

Nope, gotta spend that on making the parking deck look cutesy.

TSA Scan's all Checked bags, Once you check it, between the Front counter and the Airline Make-Up area, The TSA X-Rays and/or MRI's the bags, Some bags that scan are get Open Inspection, (TSA put a piece of paper inside when they do).

This all happens behind counter / under the airport out of passengers view.

You'd think the TSA would understand that the only reason any of these people are at the airport is because they've purchased an airplane ticket and they're attempting to get to their flights on time. TSA is actively working against its customers.

I'm aware of that but what I meant, more specifically, is that they don't load the luggage onto the planes. Furthermore I seriously, seriously doubt TSA workers would be responsible for most, if any, stolen luggage.

That's not even the issue here. It's a federal funding gap, apparently. I don't know if the airport CAN pay more to get more service out of the TSA. I'm not sure that's even an option.

Really, the best bet is to just get a private security company (not like ParkAtlanta) to come in with TSA / Homeland Security oversight to run the show.
