Unless the route is so incredibly crappy, it isn't worth $1 to riders.

That looks to be the case.

I think food items, such as corndogs, are prohibited on the streetcar. That seems to make corndogs very unhappy that they do not get to share in the success of the streetcar and they become very resentful towards the streetcar.

Come stronger than that, son.
You have provided no resources to back up your claims. I provided facts.
I came at you stronger and you flopped worst than LeBron.

All you said was "These government/taxpayer funded agencies provided money to build the streetcar."

My response is: "Yes they did. You are proving my point."

No government money is free, sport.

This isn't a hard concept.

$100 million (almost all taxpayer funded) has yielded less than 1 rider per minute. That is pathetic.

I see you have now changed your tune since I presented the facts to you. My job is done!

Uh, no, in this specific conversation.
Mike: It comes from taxes.
cqholt: Back up your claims.
Mike: It was government spending-by definition that is from taxes.
cqholt: *runs away*

So, yea, gotta give this one to Mike.

And while I don't agree to the same extreme as Mike, I do agree that the problems with the streetcar could have been solved from the start by competent planning.

ADID is not government spending, but a P3.

The Atlanta Downtown Improvement District, founded in 1995 by Central Atlanta Progress, is a public-private partnership that strives to create a livable environment for Downtown Atlanta. With a board of directors of nine private- and public-sector leaders, ADID is funded through a community improvement district. The District currently contains 220 blocks within an area generally bounded by North Avenue on the north, Memorial Drive on the south, Piedmont Avenue and the Downtown Connector on the east, and the Norfolk-Southern rail line on the west, but providing services all the way to Northside Drive.

It's a CID, a CID levies taxes. Still, that's only 6% of the whole thing.
