I'm thinking about relocating to Atlanta, but I dont know the area well at all. My Budget is about $900-1000 for rent. I'm not sure if that's even enough for something decent in the area for a two bdrm apartment or condo. Can someone pls tell me decent áreas where crimen isn't so high. I know crimen is everywhere but an area where break ins, robberies, and ppl stealing my car isnt so bad. I don't nd Public transportation.
I will be employed at one of the Post office in the area. Not sure wich one yet. I ND to know how childcare is in área for toddlers. Cost weekly?

Definitely look into Zillow.com to see apartment/housing prices. It's super easy to use. CraigsList is also a good way to see prices.

Traffic is a HUGE deal in Atlanta, so living as close as possible to work is an incredibly good idea and a smart way to save (on gas). Please . . . don't ignore the traffic.

Also, do you know the address of the post office you'll be working in? With that info. we can give you a better idea of where to home-hunt.

You can also put the address/town you'll be working in into the Google search and add the word "crime" to get good crime info.

Good luck!

Your budget is too low for buckhead or midtown. but there are some apartments in Lindbergh that will give you a break based on income. The further you get away from the city the more you'll get for your money. Maybe areas like Vinnings or Smyrna, but again, that's outside the perimeter.

Also, I don't have kids in daycare, but I have friends that do and it depends on the age. The younger they are the more it cost. Infants and toddlers can run you around 600.00 a month.

There are lots of places all over the Atlanta metropolitan region where affordable rental housing is to be found in areas of low crime.

Like Alicia64 stated, find out at which post office you will be working and then continue your search from there so that you can attempt to live as close as possible to where you will be working in an Atlanta metro region where traffic can often be a beast during daylight hours (particularly during morning and afternoon/evening rush hours).

Otherwise, Promove is an excellent source for finding quality apartment dwellings in the Atlanta metro area.
