Hi everyone, I'm planning for a book conference in January. I was wondering if anyone knew of any hostels in Atlanta, I wasn't sure if there would be any. Or if there were any cheaper hotels for one person, I'll most likely be rooming by myself.

I can't recall any hostels in the area, I'm sure there are a couple, but airbnb is probably your best bet. You can get a shared room/private room/whole house for generally a very good price. At last check, Atlanta had some pretty cool airbnb properties to check out. Other than that, use the following process on priceline.com to get a good deal. I have had great luck getting 4* hotels for 70-90 a night, Atlanta has a great setup for this.

I think there used to be a hostel, but it looks like it closed. My trick is to use Priceline's Express deals. Just make sure your hotel is in a useful location and has a lot of stars. Unfortunately, the area they consider "downtown" extends a bit too far south for my liking.

I also was going to suggest AirBnB. I have seen rooms in people's home for $30 a night in Atlanta.
