This will certainly be a nice development for the area..

Westplan paid $11.2 million for the land and two warehouses, which it intends to redevelop into a mixed-use development. The Doll House is being demolished to make room for 198 apartments.

Two warehouses? Does that mean Jungle might be redeveloped in the long term?

How so? It's always been well maintained, secure and certainly never posed a threat to the community. Like their sign said, "We're like Cheers but with naked women."

It'll be great when the strip clubs can reopen in a more convenient location such as Edgewood, Decatur or Midtown. Underground could work as well. I would suggest PCM, Kirkwood or the Beltline but they don't have rail transit yet.

Ideally they will locate closer to their customer base in the suburbs.

Why is Cheshire inconvenient for you? Seems to me like they have pretty easy access to the highways in and out of the area. But then again, I'm not one to frequent strip clubs. How frequently do you go?

I'll welcome a strip club in Kirkwood, but only a fancy one with piano and mustaches.

Well, you don't get to pick what kind of strip club you're getting.

On the up side, if local folks decide they don't like it all they have to do is wait 20-30 years for the property to be redeveloped.

The corridor was rezoned to a conditional district all up and down the Cheshire Bridge corridor. Most of the conditional zoning prohibits any newer adult entertainment uses. Also they didn't own their property, so the Doll House days were numbered. This just means adult entertainment will continue to migrate to another corridor in Atlanta...

Surrounding jurisdictions aren't as open and accepting of adult entertainment uses as Atlanta...
