What on earth is the point of downsizing just to live in a expensive drive to urban area IN the suburbs lol? Why tho?

^^^This makes the most sense.

No way would landlords be charging $5K rents if there wasn't a market for it.

It depends.

If two couples had very good paying jobs and are both receiving pensions with no other real bills, $1,750 could very well be a downgrade for them.

Plus, they probably like the slower pace of the suburbs.

Well, if the corporation is paying $3K even though it's advertised at $5K, it doesn't really seem like they're charging $5K. Maybe at best, $5K and 3 months free or something crazy.

$1700?

I thought these were $3000?

It states in the OP that space starts at $1,700 and goes up to $5K.

The $3K number was from an anecdote someone gave as far as what their company pays for space.

EDIt, it's actually $1,750, not $1,700.

Because maybe that's where they want to live? Living in the middle of the city in walkable urban utopia is not everyones' dream.
