I absolutely love music, but I struggle to think of a living band I would but that much effort into seeing live. Yikes. I wouldn't spend 4 hours in a line for anything... less a free (substantial) money giveaway

I would expect increased security/queues at MM this year.

Good thing we have the A3C Fest, Afropunk, One Musicfest, etc for those options

I'll be going to One Musicfest instead. None of the acts even inspire me to want to waste my money on the lineup

They really seem to be veering away from rock.

I mean, in 2012 they had Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, and Joan Jett.

Then in 2013, they had Red Hot Chili Peppers, Journey, Queens of the Stone Age, and Jane's Addiction.

I see they have Blink 182 and Weezer this year, but everything else seems kind of....soft. Which is totally fine if that's your jam, but to me, energetic rock and roll is really the only kind of music that is worth paying to see live. And certain pop music if they have the stage and space to do a proper stage show, which this venue doesn't offer. So the line-up, to me, seems like it will just be kind of.....boring live.

Completely agree. 2012 was my favorite year.

I hear you. I've always loved music and have been a musician and stayed active in musical circles.

Once I hit about 45 it seemed like there was some kind of neurologica barrier to keeping up with music. I have wondered if that's actually the case.

It's not just a preference for oldies -- a lot of older music stinks, while some of it is unbelievably great. And the same is true of new music. It just seems harder to process.
