If tonight's "sold out" exhibition game was any indication, it's gonna be hard to keep people in their seats because there are so many cool places for fans to go and see and do. At no time during the game did the seats look more than half full, and the crowd noise was non-existent (not that there was much to cheer about). I'm wondering if people will purchase seats but then spend most of their experience in the concourses?

(I think Turner Field often suffered from the same problem)

Keep in mind that this is a preseason game and it's the first truly public event MBS has hosted.

People won't be in their seats during Atlanta United games either!

...

(because fans spend most of the game standing and cheering)

:-)

It's the first event in a brand new multi-billion dollar stadium. People were checking everything out. A few games from now, it'll be more normal.

Yeah, I told my wife to get tickets to anything and I'll go the the new stadium, I don't ever care what it is. I'm likely to spend most of the time wandering around. After that, whatever event it is will be able to cater to normal fans, not losers like me who couldn't give 2 you-know-whats about whatever sporting event is going on.

I am a season ticket holder and was not there. I'm sure thousand of others didn't show either, especially during a major boxing event.

I'm pretty sure it's the "newness" factor. That and plus it was a pre-season game. We bought tickets to Thursday's game against the Jaguars and I can tell you I have very little interest in the Jaguars/Falcons matchup or preseason games. We figured for $20 a seat we will go check the stadium out. I'm not sure what Mercedes Benz Stadium will charge for tours when they offer them, but hey for $20 that gets us in and there will also be a game-of-some sort going on. With the stadium fans pricing for food, we plan to hit the town there! I think that is a very smart move. BTW.......the stadium looks awesome on TV! Great job Arthur Blank!

That's kind of the idea. They want people to spend as much money as possible and entertain them even in a boring game.

Like many have said, its pre-season. Nobody really cares about pre-season football. Plus its a brand new stadium, most people wanna go check out what its all about.

If thats the case just sell more general admission tickets. Basic tickets just to enter the stadium.
