Georgia elections: Fulton approves polling location changes

Fulton County election board members on Thursday unanimously approved closing, consolidating or moving several polling locations in precincts that are mostly African-American, a decision officials said was meant to streamline how voters cast their ballots on Election Day.
They also said many of the locations had seen Election Day usage decline as the popularity of early voting has surged.

I smell bs. Sniff sniff. The last election for mayor was decided by 1000 votes....

I smell BS too! If early voting is surging, why not consolidate all of the precincts in Fulton County? This sounds exactly like voter suppression to me and everyone needs to write their congressman.

I will be appalled if the State Attorney General does not stop this.

The Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections seems pretty balanced, politically wise. I would like to see some more analysis on where they locations are before I can say if it's really a problem or not.

The 6 days public notice, instead of the 14 that are legally required, though, is a problem.

The ACLU is already in and poking around, so hopefully they can get everything straightened out / see if there are actually any problems.

And Fulton County has a majority Black, majority Democratic Commission. Sounds like you are just searching for something to complain about. The idea that they would try to suppress the Black vote defies logic.

Just because someone is black doesn't mean they don't think like a coon (I'm black)

This is fishy. Georgia isn't exactly a bastion of voting rights. Why close down voting stations only in mostly-Black neighborhoods?
