Although this doesn't really justify earlier thought that Catholic schools were less expensive because teachers were priests/nuns. I think Marist is one of the most expensive at almost 20K a year.

Marist is not part of the Diocese of Atlanta which is one reason why it's much more expensive.

I went to St. Pius, and there were several nuns and priests working there. One of the priests taught religion class, and a nun was one of the nurses. The principal and vice principal were both priests. I believe there were a couple more, but I can't remember what their positions were. I graduated a long time ago, but I know the religion teacher/priest was still there until a year or two ago.

The price is lower because they know they're going to get you with the collection plate.

Non-catholic private schools pass the collection plate as well, some more forcefully than others.

No, but there's always a big push for the Annual Fund before Dec. 31. Emails, phone calls, mailings...

I've had kids at several different privates, and it varies by school and whether there's a current building campaign. One school sends like 2 letters a year--that's it, no pressure, no auction, no nada. Of course, public school PTA's ask for money as well...
