ATLANTA – In the wake of a cyberattack on city of Atlanta computers, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has taken precautions to ensure computers at the world's busiest air terminal remain unaffected.

According to airport spokesman Reese McCranie, the airport has taken down its free public WiFi and also removed some of its website’s functionality that lists flight information and wait times.

Someone seriously needs to sit in Federal prison over this.

Another thing that most people don't realize is it's ridiculously easy to steal information transmitted over WiFi (and Ethernet as well) but if they have been monitoring it for awhile god knows what other personal information they have.

I haven't read the article but I'm kind of wondering how this happened.. usually for something like this to happen you have to have a loose end somewhere. Someone either gave access to someone they shouldn't have or files were used that shouldn't have been used.

Never negotiate! What if they paid and didn't get the encryption keys? Then they would have wasted taxpayer resources.

Yeah, I'm aware that they're not local to the U.S. but its still ridiculous how much of this stuff they get away with and how many millions of dollars are lost because of it.

Here's a question.

Say you want to access the city of Atlanta website for something. Does that put you at risk of getting the same high-jack/ransom bug?
