Could anyone tell me if Georgia has a yearly property tax on vehicles? My husband and I are considering moving here and would like to know about that. In South Carolina there is a tax you have to pay every year on your vehicle in order to renew your tags, and the tax is based on your vehicles worth. It could be $1000. I live in Ohio now and you only pay for tags-no property tax and it only cost $42.00 a year.Any information anyone has would be very helpful. thank you very much

Yes, it's called Ad valorem tax and is due on your birthday. $1000 seems way high to me. My car was $17,000 and I owed something like $250 the first year. The taxes decrease each year as the value of the car decreases. That car is now three years old and my current tax bill is on the $180 range.

Kennesaw is well out of Atlanta and is seeing crazy growth! It is almost the mtns and people love living there. Definitely a family friendly 'happy' place for those who want to live in the Burbs. You also have a lot of options in the housing market.

Bring your guns, "it's the law in Kennesaw". Just thought I'd add that since we're having the carry debate in another thread. Not enforced but crime dropped every since they added it.

Born and raised in Acworth/Kennesaw...wow it's changed alot but nice place to raise a family. Traffic sucks to downtown.
