Was wondering how traffic was today..also wondering about the next days. In some ways I would think it would be lighter with people staying home, but in othe4 ways more congested with people driving who normally would be flying. I have nowhere to go, but would love to get out to a Gwinnett county park, weathe4 permitting, but have to pass by 85 to do so...

Holiday traffic is always a crapshoot in general, especially since wrecks and drunk driving are statistically more likely to happen. Traffic on my side of town is normal for pandemic times (I-20W, 75 N/S and I-20 juncture)

I'm out by lake hartwell right now. yesterday I could tell 85 was very busy. Our local Chick FIl A was SLAMMED with out of staters. Construction traffic on 85SB at the border stretched for almost 8 miles I think (compared to maybe 3 or 4 during a normal weeknight).

I was just around the Peachtree Road NE section of Buckhead, and my overall feeling is that traffic is revolting. It'll probably be like this on the weekend. Many, many out-of-state license plates and lots of people last-minute-turning. I-20 Eastbound ramp to 75/85 N was super-packed, while 75/85 to Exit 251A seemed like its normal heavy traffic. Took street roads getting home–a bit heavier on the streets, too.

Thanks. I will probably stay close to home, although I suppose things may quiet down for the next few days, with less cars even for Black Friday, and maybe pick up again on Sunday.

Yup. Wednesday, bad. Sunday will be bad, though not as much so since it will be spread across a full day instead of a lot of people working half days.

I think you'll have smooth sailing the rest of the time, but I'd avoid spots like Mall of GA, Lenox, etc. just to be safe.

I'm driving back first thing Sunday morning. Hope to be back in Alpharetta no later than 10. Also supposed to rain a lot Sunday afternoon/evening.

Yup, if anything, traffic was lighter than a normal Friday. I was just a little scared since I live close to Sugarloaf mills, but that mall will never be as busy as Mall of Georgia and others.
