I get a very good vibe from Oakhurst Park and was just curious if anyone out there could speak to the quality of the neighborhood and the suffering involved in commuting from there to Downtown.

Thanks!

Huh? Do you mean Oakhurst in Decatur? It is a quick commute to downtown, 15 minutes max, straight down Dekalb Ave. or Memorial, depending on where you live.

Yes, I guess it is Oakhurst in Decatur. I have heard it referred to as Oakhurst Park--by maps, that is, and... people.

LovinDecatur: Thanks for getting my back!

But seriously, excited to see Oahkurst Park and the rest of Decatur. Have heard good things aside from the commute time issue which, right or wrong, I've been told can be a bit ehhhhh... though that was just generally from Decatur so maybe it matters quite a bit wherein, etc.

Cheers.

To get to downtown Atlanta from Oakhurst is a breeze. Just hop on DeKalb Avenue and head west. It will dump you in downtown in about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.

We live in Oakhurst and love it.

Funny, I drive by that sign on East Lake about every day and never noticed "Park." Mental block on my part.

The 'Park' seems to have been dropped by-the-by...when I was growing up, it was Oakhurst Park, just like it's neighbor, Winnona Park.
