Hello,

David from Jacksonville FL here. I'm out of work and looking for I.T. related (pc support/field tech/network admin) jobs in the Atlanta area as Jacksonville's job market seems worse than Atlanta's currently, but I know it's tight everywhere.

Anyway, back on point- I'm searching for work in both cities to increase my chances of you know, getting a job. I have family living on the outskirts of ATL but ideally I’d like to live in a pedestrian friendly in-town neighborhood within the perimeter

I'm 30 with no kids, not interesting in buying a home and would like the neighborhood to have an artistic infusion and have plenty of places to eat, drink and catch live music at.

I know a bit about Little 5 points, Cabbagetown & Virgina Highlands but would like to know if any other neighborhoods that are similar to those areas and what rent prices range from. (I.E. is anything below 1000 a month not worth it?) I’m not afraid of up and coming neighborhoods either, so long as the momentum’s building.

For those of you familiar with Jacksonville think Riverside, Murray Hill & Springfield, that’s what I’m aiming for. Sorry this is so long-winded! Thanks for any advice you all can give.

I would add Inman Park to your list. It is adjacent to Little 5 Points.

Here are some links that will be helpful to you:

N. Highland Steel | Perennial Properties

There are plenty of shops and restaurants.

Another spot would be the City of Decatur - specifically downtown Decatur. www.decaturga.com
