I have these tiny ants in my house, in every room. I have tried many things to get rid of them. Terro, Combat, a professional exterminator, corn meal, vinager, sprays, granular pesticide around the outside of the house, etc, etc. I beleive that they are Argentina ants (sugar ants). I keep my kitchen counters very clean, spray them with bleach everyday. sugar in the frig. garbage taken out every evening. These ants just won't go away! They don't seem to travel in a line, they are everywhere at random. The exterminator used ?? Bifen ??. Didn't work and he swore that it would. It seemed to have no effect. I am so sick of these things in my house, I scream!
Does anyone have any ideas???? Please help!!!!!!!!! I'm being invaded and losing my mind, I am having dreams about them!!!!!

Hi, in Florida, and we all had them, and we have a bug person! so far, have not saw them. when I do it is lots of rain, and it looks as many do come out, and I do freak out! So, I do get a water squirt with soap suds, and water spray them. I did to all the ant etc., so soap and squrit to kill is my mission now! I feel for you, as be gone! just water and soap them to ant heaven! they would come like lots, in the kitchen, and bath? the ant bait never did work for me! Drown, and have the queen die, my mission! get a water and mix soap, then drown them. No food to the queen to carry back! It does seem the rain gets them in! I also did do all you did, did not work! I did read boraic acid with jelly on tin foil may kill them out? the poison, and sweet, and place it on
an old coffee top, or foil? I have not yet tried this! It reminds me of killing fleas on sweet dogs?Drown the workers, no food for the queen, or give them the posion to return with! It the north the ants would come in when it was may til july, and the black ant traps did kill them?

Ortho Home Defense. Can be bought by the Gallon at Costco for under $20.00 and works for me. Spray along baseboards in all rooms, under counters, etc. Just make sure young kids/pets can't get to it. If that doesn't work, you could have a complete infestation in your actual walls, and only a pro can fix that.

Try Maxforce.

I used Terro for outdoors and it worked within a day or so and haven't seen any since.

Bifenthrin might be the chemical that you were thinking of.

At any rate, If I were you, I'd call up your exterminator and tell him to come out again because whatever he did was ineffective. And expect that he fix the problem or refund the money for the initial visit.

Try Ant-Kil by Protexall.

Comes in a small white bottle with a red top. Kills the heck out of ants, but it's very poisonous. Home Depot sells it. It's a blue liquid.

We had a huge ant problem in South Florida and once we used it, it really kept the ants out of the house. To this day, my mom doesn't have an ant problem anymore (and she started using it in 95 or so)

Well, Terro always worked for me, until I moved to Arkansas. No amount of Terro inside and out seemed to permanently get rid of the small ants, as the nest seems to encompass the entire neighborhood! However, I found something that worked. I sprinkled diatomaceous earth all around the perimeter of my house a few weeks ago, and I haven't seen one tiny ant since then. It worked! It cost me about $7.00 and was the best stuff I've ever used.

Sevin Dust, which can be purchased at most local fruit farms does the trick. Sprinkle it around the edge of your home as well as your doorways. Keep away from animals and children. I have even had ants come through electrical sockets...pumped Sevin into the sockets...never had a problem again. Great stuff!

My mama called them "sugar ants.". Yes, Sevin will do the trick.
