Here's the key - I really don't want to live in a neighborhood.

I'd prefer an area that has a lot of 'single' homes (not sure what they're called.. but basically the driveway is off of a main rd rather than in a neighborhood).

I currently go to KSU and have another two years left. However, I work in Norcross. Any suggestions? Price range is 200-250k..

What's your major? Is there anyway you could transfer to Georgia Gwinnett College (the new Georgia Regents university in Lawrenceville).

I'm in business. I could, but I would prefer not to. I've actually never heard of that - and by college I assume it's a 2 year school vs a univ?

I'm thinking the ideal location would be somewhere around where 285 and 75 connect on the north side. There really isn't much traffic on my trip on 285 vs up and 75 which can be horrible.

Considering your criteria, I recommend the following areas:

1. Roswell

2. Sandy Springs

3. Where I-285 and I-75 meet, which means:
a. Southern East Cobb
b. Cumberland/Akers Mill
c. North Vinings
d. East Smyrna

I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Georgia Gwinnett College is a four-year college under the University System of Georgia. It's the newest, fully accredited USG college/university and has at least 2000 students enrolled. They are in the process of completing dormitories. Here's a link: Georgia Gwinnett College - GGC Home Page

Stay at KSU by all means. Nothing against the other school but KSU is very reputable and a University, etc. Have you look in the Murhpy Candler Park/Blackburn Park area? There are some $$$ homes and some $$ homes. Its just inside 285 off Ashford Dunwoody Road. It is a little closer to Norcross than KSU, but for long term, it is extremely great. It is one area that has held its values in the last couple of years.

Hmm - see that's not a bad drive at all. In the afternoon it would be a ~20 mile round trip to ksu and back... and would give me a short commute as well. I'll look into it - thanks!

You are not making it from a/d in the afternoon to ksu in 20 minutes................ not going to happen.

A little inside information: parking at ksu is next to impossible. allocate 30-40 minutes for that, since you will probably have to park at the distant lots and hike it to class across the entire campus.

Ah I said 20 miles, not minutes...

Fully aware of the parking problems, and they aren't all that bad. The trick is to show up 15 minutes before class when everyone is leaving. Not to mention I usually ride a motorcycle = instaparking at KSU.
