Mableton is slated to be improved, but does anyone know when it's supposed to be started and finished? Would it be wiser to purchase a condo or home in Mableton or some place like Alpharetta? I'm a semi-retired Caucasian female who is looking to relocate.

I don't know what you mean by started and finished. Just look at areas near Smyrna and you'll find a lot of nice neighborhoods, from moderate prices to very expensive.

I would say that it started a while ago ... the lovely wooded John Wieland subdivision in Mableton that I currently live in was started in 1987, for example, and there are developments of similar vintage a few miles to the east and west of my home's location on Cooper Lake Road, mainly along Nickajack Road and along Buckner. The process is still continuing, although the real estate slowdown in the Atlanta metro has stopped development of MOST areas for the past few years.

I don't see it ever finishing. Living and breathing communities are scenes of constant change.
