Is this an area you would recommend?
Here is the scoop- ALL the areas you mention are decent but be careful of going too far toward downtown on Piedmont Rd. Lots of people relate Piedmont Rd to the park but the fact is Piedmont Rd goes all the way downtown and once you cross Ponce De Leon, the area is very dicey at best with lots of petty crime. Midtown is cool but avoid anything downtown or close to it.

My impression? Enormous, well-located and attractive. The views of Buckhead from the upper floors must be amazing.

TravelingNYer - I've lived in Ansley Park since 1997, and Morningside for seven years before that. There is the occaisional car break in, but it is a very safe neighborhood. Perhaps twice in the 13 years I have lived in Ansley Park have I heard of any crime to a person. Ansley Mall, which is adjacent to the neighborhood (but separated by Clear Creek and what will be Atlanta's Beltline park/transit corridor) has a 24 hour Kroger Grocery and a 24 hour Publix Grocery. Happy to refer you to a real estate agent who can assist you in locating suitable housing. Best of luck!

Like I said before, we live at GM and the views are amazing if you're in the right unit. The area to the right that you are referring to (Cheshire Bridge/Piedmont) is more sketchy looking than actually dangerous. The Ansley Mall area is one of the safest intown neighborhoods, and extremely convenient.

Thanks for the posts. I was told there was a small park near Gables Midtown where during the summer they show movies and have small festivals. Anyone familiar with this?

Umm...Piedmont Park is down the street and they show movies during the summer, but it's a very large park where very large festivals are held
