Will be moving to Gwinnett Co. in a few months, was wondering how much mony will I need to from Miami to metro ATL, will be driving a U-haul with a car trailer. How much would some one save for this trip?

The uhaul rates varies with the truck size or trailer size, if you rent the small truck 10" it will run you about $778.00 (from Miami to Atl with truck plus mileage). You can also rent 5x6x7 pods they will deliver to your door you pack it and you can ship it to you new house. The web site it U-Haul: Rates and reservations this site will give you the rates. The pods are about $64 each and they are small for a house with two bedrooms you might need two. You can also try PODS, their pods are bigger but it is expensive to get delivery to your new place also look at budget trucks they have a good price. I'm moving from Illinois to Peachtree City and I'm using the uhaul pods, will load both but will store one and have the other one sent to PTC that way the cost can be broken in two parts instead of paying one large amount. I used to work at a u-haul traffic center (which I hated). If nothing has changed 10 foot trucks are only for local moves. Smallest truck for out of town move is 14 feet. They give you a certain number of days and miles you are allowed to have the truck. You have to provide the gas for the truck and return it with the same gas gauge

HOWEVER u-haul price matches and are usually very negotiable on their prices. I would not set up the reservation at a U-haul center or dealer because they might not budge but I would reserve either online or using the 1800 sales number. Once you reserve online, call the sales number or traffic number and say that Peneske gave you a better deal and U-Haul should match.
