Glad to see more good news for Augusta. BTW, with all the growth that is happening in Augusta do you think its possible for Augusta/Richmond to reach 215,000 by 2020. Also I think Columbia County may reach 170,000 by 2020.

The past couple years they've increasted 4K+ per year...the '09 to '10 they gained 12K. It wouldn't be out of the question with 6 more years left for them to increase 40K, especially with the jobs coming in at the Fort and other factory expansions.

I don't know where you found those statistics, but their wrong based on the census...

The county averaged 3,500 during 2000-2010 and 3,500 during the 2010-2012 estimate..

I used to live in Columbia County, and things have slowed down.... Grovetown is growing faster, but Martinez appears to be moving slower. Between 2000-2010 almost every new large commercial shopping center was opening in Columbia County, but now their coming to Richmond County in 2013/2014....

I wonder why the 2013 census estimate states the Columbia County population grew by > 7K over the 2012 estimate? I know that countyman would never manipulate stats.....

After review of the play, the penalty is reversed. countyman is correct, I did not follow the spreadsheet correctly, the > 7K population increase is from 2010 to 2012.

Would you care to explain the 12K jump from July '09 to July '10 in this data from the US Census Bureau then? Population in the U.S. - Google Public Data Explorer

Forgive me for not using EXACT numbers (3,500 vs. 4K) like you. I don't have time to pore over statistics and scour the county records and public building project databases like some....
