I feel sorry the folks over in Trenton,SC. I hate how a lot of these companies take tax breaks and then bail once the tax breaks run out.

Yes.. and Augusta has maxed out their TADs on the VAR. and North Augsuta is about to finance a ballpark on prime Riverfront realestate with TADs. One they expire there is no guarantee that these companies will stick around. It's a gamble and these cominies have learned how to stack the deck in their favor.

TADs and TIFs don't have anything to do with this or with companies leaving in general. Those are reallocations of collected taxes improvements like revitalization, infrastructure, and redevelopment. Companies relocate due to tax breaks offered to them, which are completely different than TADs and TIFs. Either may be used to make improvements that might LURE a company to a location, but they are of no financial benefit to the companies themselves, and thus, nothing to do with why they would leave.

Losing 485 jobs is not a good sign for Edgefield County.
