I agree. I think this will be the start of many mixed-use developments particularly with the arrival of Unisys. I can see a ton of small start ups in the next decade so office space is going to be at a premium.

Hoping for a mix of residential, office, hotel, and retail. Similar to the Watermark proposed before the recession. The best option would involve the depot becoming an grocery store.

I agree, a nice mixed use development on the riverfront would be great for Augusta. I think an organic market like Sprouts or Whole Foods would be great for the depot.

Amlovingit posted the article in another thread. There's countless similar threads might as well post it here.

City Takes Step To Develop Downtown Property | WJBF-TV
The Watermark deal – a $100 million office-condominium-hotel-retail project – would fizzle but Glaze has resurfaced with his firm, Public-Private Partnership Project Management Inc., on a new effort to develop the same riverfront tract, a former railroad depot once owned by city pensioners. He and DDA Director Margaret Woodard have twice met privately with Augusta commissioners in recent weeks. The pair was again present Wednesday when the commission voted to approve an intergovernmental agreement with the DDA involving the Reynolds Street tract. Glaze headed the firm that built the new Harlem public safety building on land then owned by former mayor Bobby Culpepper, according to The Chronicle’s archives. He also worked on a mixed-use parking deck project for the city of Athens. A website for another Glaze company, Urban Trust Capital, lists his work on historic tax credit projects such as the Baldwin Lofts in Milledgeville and The Castle in Atlanta.

Instead of clogging up the new arena thread discussing the train depot site. Here is the link to the mixed-use projects created by the developer. I have no idea what the project includes besides a parking garage. I can understand why Sean Frantom decided to use the phrase 'game changer'.
Property Type Mixed Use : Daniel Corporation

Link to the consulting firm..

Good find! I'm looking forward to seeing what this developer is proposing. It will certainly change the look of downtown.

If it something like Atlantic Station in Atlanta or close to it, that will be a game changer
