I don't know the whole answer, but if you take the new I-45 toll road from I-35 at RR, it takes 15 minutes on I-45 to 183 exiting at Spicewood Springs/McNeil.

It's a fast road with very little traffic.

I would say that it depends on the time of the day.... not sure, because I don't go that way, but 183 gets pretty hairy during rush hour.

There's also another good route taking Greenlawn, Frontera, and the 1 loop to McNeil.

Agree that 183 gets ugly.

I'm off of 183/McNeil, so it's ugly to Braker from McNeil in the AM. I'm not sure how bad it is from Cedar Park to McNeil on 183.
