Southeast Travis County, over 71 14 miles north of Lockart, moving north at 35 mph, heading towards Manor, but it's a POSSIBLE tornado.

Agree. No funnel cloud, just rotation within a cloud, but not looking good on radar. Already told family that area to be ready/get to cover.

Are tornadoes common this time of the year? Usually we see more tornado action in spring ...

No, this is related to Hermine. The weather guy kept saying that tornadoes related to tropical storms aren't forceful as the ones that are part of the supercells that head through these parts during the springtime.

The storm has evidently knocked KXAN off the air, starting just a couple of minutes before 10 PM.

LOL We didn't know a thing about the tornado warnings last night! We were sitting on the back porch, drinking beer and watching baseball on TV while it poured! As for tropical storm tornadoes....they say they're smaller and shorter-lived. I don't want to find out firsthand!

We got that warning while watching recordings on U-verse last night, we thought it was on the recording rather then something that was happening live! It wasn't until the 3 or 4th warning while watching different recordings that we noticed it was yesterday's date! LOL

But when I looked up more information on any weather warnings they cited something over NW Travis county so we stopped worrying about it since we are in SW.

I read in the paper this AM that there were a few funnel clouds sighted over Austin yesterday, but none touched down.
